Lawo To Highlight Dynamic Media Facilities And Software-Based Production

Lawo will use IBC 2026 to demonstrate the latest developments in its software-based production ecosystem, with a showcase centred on Dynamic Media Facilities (DMF), IP infrastructure and multi-vendor interoperability.

Exhibiting on stand 8.B90, the company will present new additions to its HOME management platform, the European trade show debut of Edge One, updated software for its mc² production console family and Power Core, alongside a live demonstration of Dynamic Media Facilities in operation.

The demonstration will focus on how broadcasters and media organisations can dynamically allocate processing resources across studios, remote production environments and hybrid infrastructures. Lawo will show how software-based processing resources can be deployed, scaled and reassigned as production requirements change, rather than being tied to dedicated hardware.

At the centre of the showcase is HOME, the company's management and orchestration platform for IP-based media infrastructures. HOME provides device discovery, authentication, security and control, while HOME Apps extend the platform with software-based processing microservices that can be deployed across broadcast environments.

Lawo will also highlight its collaboration with Grass Valley, demonstrating orchestration, control and media exchange integration between Grass Valley AMPP and Lawo HOME. The interoperability demonstration aligns with the European Broadcasting Union's Dynamic Media Facility initiative and focuses on open systems integration.

The company is expanding the HOME ecosystem with two new applications for graphics processing, enabling branding, graphics compositing and real-time broadcast presentation to be managed alongside signal processing, monitoring, multiviewing and transcoding within a single platform.

Also making its European trade show debut is Edge One, a new platform combining audio, video, networking and processing in a compact form factor for broadcast and professional AV applications. The platform integrates SDI, HDMI, MADI, USB-C audio, GPIO, synchronisation interfaces and interchangeable audio I/O modules, allowing users to configure the system for studio, remote production, flypack or commentary applications.

Supporting SMPTE ST 2110 networking at up to 25Gbps, Edge One can operate as part of an IP infrastructure or as a standalone platform for audio embedding, de-embedding, signal transport and related workflows. Additional features, including JPEG XS encoding and decoding, frame synchronisation, commentary functions, MADI I/O and mc² DSP processing, are available through software licensing.

Lawo will also demonstrate mc² Software Release 12.4, introducing new workflow enhancements including Real-Time Analyzer support, improved touch operation, expanded third-party control, Ember+ channel preset recall, sample-based delay adjustment and API-key authentication for secure MCX-to-HOME connectivity.

Visitors will also receive a preview of mc² Release 12.6, which adds dynamic assignment between control surfaces and control systems through HOME, browser-based operation of mxGUI via the HOME mc² Control System App and enhanced AUX bus assignment displays.

For radio and audio production, the latest Power Core software release adds support for Lawo OnAir Designer together with a new five-band equaliser. The update is available for both Power Core hardware and the HOME Power Core App, extending audio processing capabilities for broadcast applications.

Alongside the new software releases, Lawo will showcase its wider portfolio of IP-native audio infrastructure, including the mc² production console family, Power Core, A__UHD audio engines and A__stage stageboxes. Integrated through HOME and based on open standards, the products are designed to support workflows ranging from smaller production environments to large-scale sports, entertainment and broadcast operations.

Lawo's IBC2026 exhibit will focus on how software-defined production, Dynamic Media Facilities and IP-native infrastructures can provide broadcasters with greater operational flexibility, scalability and more efficient use of production resources.
