Matthews Unveils Monitor Stand III

Matthews Studio Equipment has introduced the Monitor Stand III, the latest iteration of its trusted rolling monitor support, engineered for use from the studio floor to uneven locations.

Retaining the proven qualities relied upon by professionals, the new model is designed to move more smoothly, increase versatility, boost durability and present a sharper look.

To better suit today's on-set workflows, the stand adds straight-tracking, dual-locking castors that glide across a variety of surfaces. V-shaped brakes secure at three points of contact to keep the rig exactly where it is placed. A new tough black forge-texture finish enhances resilience while delivering a premium appearance.

An optional bolt-on Battery Tray allows power to be mounted at the base, freeing the risers to carry monitors and other equipment above for a tidy, purpose-built setup.

Key features include reinforced braces, an integrated carry handle and a 1/4"-20 tapped baby pin for additional mounting options such as flags and accessories. An ultra-low 5.5 in/14 cm base height helps the stand slide under furniture, while a Rocky Mountain levelling leg manages uneven terrain. The stand supports up to 70 lb (32 kg), aided by straight-tracking castors and 3-point V-brakes.

The Monitor Stand III offers a minimum loading height of 31 in/78 cm and a maximum loading height of 69 in/175 cm, with a base height of 5.5 in/14 cm. It weighs 20 lb/9 kg and incorporates a 1/4"-20 thread.

Staying true to Matthews' build philosophy, the stand is fully serviceable—constructed entirely with nuts and bolts—with replacement parts available from the company’s Burbank, California factory.
