The Viral Awards launch with support from the APA

The world’s first awards show dedicated to ‘viral’ and ‘buzz’ advertising is launching this month in London.
With an impressive international jury chaired by Steve Henry, and with wide support from the advertising industry, including The Advertising Producers Association, it is sure to further focus the production industry on the opportunities presented by viral and buzz marketing.
"We have set up The Viral Awards to put the spotlight squarely on the medium," explained Alex West, Awards Director. "This is not only a great opportunity for production companies to showcase their work and the breadth of their vision, but also for others to garner a greater understanding of the opportunities presented by viral and buzz. The Viral Awards will not only showcase the very best creative work from around the world, but also award work from a results perpective."
The growth in viral and buzz marketing has been exponential in the past twelve months, and the quality of work and importance of the medium as part of the marketing process has grown accordingly.
"We are really excited about the Awards and hope that they can help create a greater understanding and take-up of the medium by more advertisers which can only benefit the production industry," said Will Jeffery, jury member and MD of production company Maverick Media.
The Awards will be held at the London College of Fashion on January 13 2005 and is open for entries now.
