Lumens Launches VoiceConnect 100

Lumens Digital Optics Inc. has introduced VoiceConnect 100, a voice-activated camera tracking and switching solution designed to simplify video automation in small and medium-sized meeting rooms.

The system combines multiple Lumens VC-TR60A PTZ cameras with automated voice detection and AI tracking capabilities to create multi-angle meeting experiences using existing network infrastructure. The solution is aimed at organisations looking to improve hybrid meetings, training sessions and round-table discussions without the complexity of traditional camera operation.

In conventional meeting spaces, capturing close-up views of active speakers often requires manual camera control, extensive preset configuration or fixed-position video soundbars. Lumens said VoiceConnect 100 removes these requirements by automatically identifying the location of speakers, framing presenters and switching between camera angles as conversations move around the room.

The automated workflow allows participants to communicate naturally while the system selects the most appropriate camera view in real time, helping remote attendees maintain focus on the person speaking.

“Customers asked us for a voice-tracking solution that is easy to install and avoids the blind spots and poor viewing angles that plague alternative solutions. VoiceConnect 100 makes voice-activated camera switching very easy to deploy and delivers video that captures delegates in a much more natural way,” said Steven Liang, Head of Product Development at Lumens.

At the centre of the system is the Lumens OIP-N60D, which acts as a bridge between the cameras and unified communications platforms including Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. The device combines IP video streams from VC-TR60A cameras with Dante-enabled microphones and loudspeakers before delivering standard USB video and audio to a connected BYOD computer.

Unlike some tracking solutions, VoiceConnect 100 does not require ceiling array microphones with voice-positioning capabilities or individual camera presets for seats within a room. Instead, the system continuously tracks delegates as they move through the space.

Lumens said the platform provides benefits for users, IT teams and system integrators. Meeting participants can operate the system without additional software or complex controls, while IT and AV teams can take advantage of an IP-based architecture that supports centralised monitoring and updates. Integrators can use existing network infrastructure to simplify installation, while organisations can select audio equipment suited to their requirements to help reduce installation and maintenance costs.
