Mediapro Argentina Scales CONMEBOL Graphics Workflow

News Image
A scalable graphics workflow powered by wTVision enabled Mediapro Argentina to manage one of the most demanding matchdays in the CONMEBOL Libertadores and Sudamericana group stage, combining live sports production, real-time graphics control and cloud-based operations.

During the closing round, 14 matches kicked off within a two-and-a-half-hour window, creating a production overlap that required 14 dedicated graphics systems.

Each system combined a Football CG controller, three graphics engines—one for each language feed—and the control-room resources needed to prepare and operate each match independently. Eight systems were deployed at Mediapro Argentina’s hub in Buenos Aires, four in Miami, and two additional systems were activated in the cloud using Amazon Web Services.

This hybrid setup allowed the operation to scale when the schedule demanded it, while preserving a consistent graphics workflow and visual identity across multiple feeds.

The two cloud-based systems expanded Mediapro Argentina’s available capacity for an exceptional production window without requiring permanent expansion of local hardware infrastructure.

Each cloud server ran three graphics engines, generating dedicated outputs in Spanish, Portuguese and English. The same graphics project and football statistics workflow used for local production was maintained in the cloud, ensuring consistency across all broadcasts.

This approach allowed the operation to scale precisely when additional resources were needed, activating cloud capacity to handle overflow matches within the existing production model rather than building permanent infrastructure for peak demand.

The matchday also highlighted the growing role of R³ Engine within Mediapro’s CONMEBOL workflows. Together with Football CG and wTVision’s football statistics tools, it supported the delivery of real-time data-driven graphics, including scores, lineups, match events and statistical overlays throughout live broadcasts.

The closing group-stage matchday demonstrated the value of combining established on-site infrastructure with cloud-based capacity.

With operations distributed across Buenos Aires, Miami and AWS cloud, the workflow was able to handle an unusually compressed schedule while maintaining consistency across multilingual sports broadcasts.
