ITVX Records Strongest Month On Record
ITVX has delivered its strongest monthly performance to date, surpassing the 400 million streams mark for the first time in the platform’s history.
The streaming service recorded 468 million streams during June, driven by a schedule centred around live sport and reality programming. ITV said the platform also attracted 21 million users across the month.
The total represents an increase of 173 million streams compared with June last year and an additional 85 million streams compared with January 2026, which had previously been ITVX’s strongest-performing month.
The latest figures also mean ITVX exceeded two billion streams in under six months for the first time, reaching the milestone on 22 June — 28 days earlier than in 2025.
June also delivered ITV’s highest peak television audience of the year, with 16.4 million viewers tuning in to watch England’s match against Croatia on 17 June. On the same evening, with Love Island airing across ITV2 and ITVX, ITV recorded a 98% share of viewing among 16–34-year-olds between 9pm and 10pm.
Live football was one of the main contributors to ITVX’s record month, with World Cup coverage generating significant audiences across both broadcast and streaming platforms.
According to ITV, 16 of the top 20 live-streamed audiences on ITVX this year have come within the past 20 days during the tournament.
ITV broadcast seven of the ten most-watched group-stage matches, including England’s two victories, which reached peak audiences of 16.4 million and 13.8 million respectively. Other high-performing fixtures included Mexico versus South Africa, Norway versus France, Netherlands versus Japan, Scotland versus Morocco, and Germany versus Côte d’Ivoire.
The broadcaster also introduced a dedicated fan zone experience through the ITVX mobile app during the tournament, which has generated 14 million sessions so far.
ITV added that passwordless authentication technology introduced ahead of the competition now accounts for 43% of all platform logins.
Reality programming also continued to contribute strongly to ITVX performance, with Love Island remaining the platform’s biggest individual title of 2026.
The proportion of the programme’s audience viewing via streaming has continued to increase, with ITV reporting that 64% of viewers are now watching through ITVX, compared with 53% over the same period last year.
The programme was also the most-watched title among 16–34-year-olds outside football during June and the only non-football programme to achieve a viewing share above 50% within the demographic.
Alongside sport and reality content, ITVX said its drama catalogue continued to attract strong viewing figures throughout the month.
Seven drama titles each exceeded one million streams since the start of the World Cup, offering alternative viewing options during the tournament period. Among the strongest performers were Vera, Believe Me, The Family Next Door, Cape Rock Killer and The Affair.
Film viewing also recorded double-digit growth during the World Cup period, with titles including The Gentleman, the Taken franchise and Dirty Dancing among the strongest performers.
