Riedel and SKAARHOJ Expand Partnership

Riedel Communications has expanded its collaboration with SKAARHOJ, introducing official SKAARHOJ panel support for SimplyLive production workflows through the latest SimplyLive 2.1 software release.

The new integration adds dedicated hardware control options to SimplyLive, providing users with a tactile switcher panel experience alongside the platform’s touchscreen interface and existing RCU-based workflows. The move is intended to address demand from live production operators seeking the familiarity and responsiveness of traditional control surfaces.

Through the integration, SimplyLive users will be able to manage a range of live production functions using SKAARHOJ panels, including source switching, program output switching, transitions, auxiliary output control, keying, graphics and macros.

Riedel said the integration has been designed with usability and deployment speed in mind. To simplify implementation, the two companies are providing a curated starting configuration intended to help users deploy the system quickly while maintaining flexibility for customised production requirements.

The partnership builds on previous collaborations between the two companies, which have included integrations involving Riedel SmartPanels and MediorNet technologies.

According to Riedel, SimplyLive 2.1 introduces official support for SKAARHOJ panels through a gRPC API, enabling communication between the panel hardware and the SimplyLive ViBox application. The release also includes additional features and enhancements, including a new Venue Gateway licence for SimplyLive Production Suite Flex customers that enables the same server hardware to support Venue Gateway applications alongside existing All-in-One, Replay, Ingest and Review workflows.
