Atomos Sumo PRO-19 4K HDR Monitor-Recorder-Switcher Now Shipping
Atomos (booth #S1006) has begun shipping the Sumo PRO-19, a 19-inch 4K HDR monitor‑recorder‑switcher positioned as a central production hub for set, video village and DIT environments. The upgraded model builds on the Sumo 19SE with a true 4K HDR DCI‑P3 display for finer image detail and more precise on‑set reference monitoring.
Also at Cine Gear, Atomos confirmed that all of its next‑generation monitor‑recorders — Ninja RAW, Ninja TX GO, Ninja TX, Shogun AV‑19 and Sumo PRO‑19 — now support Fujifilm's FLog‑2C colour science. The company will demonstrate Sumo PRO‑19 paired with Fujifilm's new ETERNA 55 filmmaking camera at booth #S116, combining FLog‑2C with Sumo PRO‑19's EL Zone™ exposure monitoring to enhance workflows for directors and cinematographers.
Sumo PRO‑19 consolidates HDR monitoring, professional recording, camera control, live switching and cloud connectivity in a single device to streamline collaboration across departments. It supports recording in Apple ProRes, Apple ProRes RAW, Avid DNx and H.265 from SDI or HDMI sources, with up to 10‑bit 4:2:2 capture and high‑resolution RAW workflows up to 8K (up to 8K at 30p via SDI or HDMI). Footage can be written to internal CFexpress media or to external USB‑C storage, offering flexible, high‑data‑rate capture and backup options.
For on‑set operation, the touchscreen interface provides camera control for supported models, including start/stop, ISO, shutter, aperture, white balance and touch‑to‑focus — particularly useful when cameras are mounted on cranes, jibs or in other hard‑to‑reach rigs. The unit can record up to four isolated camera feeds (ISOs) plus a fifth programme output, and offers 2 x 12G‑SDI and 2 x 3G‑SDI inputs, a 12G‑SDI output, and HDMI input/output. Over‑the‑air firmware updates are supported.
Designed for connected productions, Sumo PRO‑19 features integrated Wi‑Fi and Ethernet for camera‑to‑cloud workflows, enabling direct upload to ATOMOSphere, Frame.io, Dropbox and other supported services for near real‑time review across distributed teams. Atomos' AirGlu™ timecode technology over RF or Bluetooth keeps cameras and devices in sync. The device also supports NDI® HX3 send and receive over standard Ethernet or Wi‑Fi, facilitating flexible video village and remote production without specialised infrastructure.
Creative and technical monitoring tools include EL Zone™ false colour, focus peaking, waveform, Log‑to‑LUT viewing, frame guides, safe areas, anamorphic de‑squeeze, HDR‑to‑Rec.709 conversion and quad‑view/multi‑camera monitoring. Frequently used tools can be assigned to user‑definable front‑panel function buttons for rapid access.
Audio is handled via dual full‑size XLR inputs with 48V phantom power, dedicated metering and gain control, plus frame‑accurate audio delay to ensure precise sync with video sources.
"Modern productions demand more than monitoring—they require a connected hub that brings image accuracy, recording, camera control, and collaboration together in one system," said Peter Barber, CEO of Atomos. "Sumo PRO-19 is designed for those realities, giving production teams a reliable 4K HDR reference and a unified platform for decision-making across set and video village."
Sumo PRO‑19 is now shipping worldwide via Atomos‑approved resellers at USD $2,899 / EUR 2,899, excluding local sales taxes and tariffs. Storage media are sold separately; some cloud services may require an additional purchase or subscription. Further details are available at www.atomos.com.
Headquartered in Melbourne with teams across the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and China, Atomos is known for its Ninja and Shogun lines of monitor‑recorders and for advancing connected workflows including camera‑to‑cloud, remote collaboration, cloud editing and streaming.
