SKARAMOOSH BUY AVID|DS HD SYSTEM

LEADING post-production house Skaramoosh have announced the purchase of an Avid|DS HD system.
Avid|DS HD is a nonlinear production system (NLP™) for real-time conforming and finishing of projects in multiple HD and 601 formats. The HD suite is currently being prepared for installation of the system in July 2001.
The Avid|DS HD will join Skaramoosh’s range of existing Avid equipment which includes a standard definition Avid½DS system, SOFTIMAGE|XSI and Avid Media Illusion.
Commenting on the purchase, Daniel Slight, Managing Director, Skaramoosh, said: “Skaramoosh have always taken an innovative approach to our work and the technology used to produce it – hence we chose the most sophisticated and versatile HD system which will allow us to online and composite long form projects in HD format.”
Skaramoosh have a range of high profile broadcast and film clients that include BBC Worldwide, BBC Science, BBC Education, Discovery Communications, October Films, Channel 4, Channel 5 and many more. The company have recently produced 25 minutes of computer animation for the high-rating Land Of The Mammoth documentary for Discovery Communications and graphics and animation for the Empires of Stone series for Channel 4 – both of these projects required a large amount of compositing and special effects.
