root6 Technology to introduce new version 1.2 software for ContentAgent at IBC

At IBC 2004 root6 Technology are to announce a new version 1.2 software for ContentAgent, the dedicated workflow tool for automating the capture, conversion and distribution of compressed digital files in broadcast and postproduction environments.
Version 1.2 features an enhanced user interface simplifying operation and increasing versatility and productivity.
File conversion capabilities have been extended and now accommodate both Avid OMF and Final Cut Pro QuickTime DV25 formats. Support for the Sorenson ACE codec accommodates MPEG4 and a new Flash codec captures native Flash video as FLV and SWF.
BEAM.TV users benefit from a number of enhancements including a clips and metadata upload feature to the Beam Archive. Other new 1.2 features, which existing ContentAgent users will receive via the internet by automatic updates, include Vertical Blanking capture enabling VITC and teletext transparency, the ability to add DVD chapter points and grab reference frames via a log file.
At home in broadcast and postproduction environments, ContentAgent’s user interface has been designed with non-technical operation in mind and a range of versatile tools and features make ContentAgent much more than a simple video encoding system.
The advanced scripting system in ContentAgent considerably extends versatility as it allows the implementation of custom programming for bespoke applications.
