Amagi Launches Newspulse
Amagi has unveiled Newspulse, an Agentic AI platform designed to transform how newsrooms convert broadcast content into digital-ready formats.
The system automatically monitors live news broadcasts and VOD libraries, identifies individual stories, and generates social-ready clips, vertical videos, and full news bulletins.
With 93% of young adults (ages 18–29) consuming news digitally and 76% relying on social media (Pew Research Center), broadcasters face mounting pressure to reach audiences online. Traditionally, newsrooms have relied on a patchwork of tools to repurpose content, a process that is both costly and labor-intensive. Newspulse aims to streamline this workflow by providing a single platform that manages the entire pipeline—from live feed ingest to multi-platform publishing.
The platform scans live broadcasts in real time, isolates individual stories, and automatically converts them into content tailored for various digital channels. When breaking news occurs, Newspulse dynamically reframes video into multiple aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 4:5, 1:1), tracks on-screen subjects and graphics, generates captions, and publishes the clips directly to newsroom endpoints—all within minutes. Human-in-the-loop checkpoints are available for editorial oversight, while the system can also sequence clips into complete news bulletins of varying lengths.
A key feature of Newspulse is its policy-driven Agentic AI, which maintains editorial control, brand integrity, and compliance. Newsrooms define rules for brand voice, stylistic preferences, and content priorities, ensuring the AI operates strictly within these parameters.
"The newsroom's historical hesitation around AI has centered entirely on the fear of losing editorial control and brand integrity," said Srividhya Srinivasan, Co-founder and CTO at Amagi. "With Newspulse, we are changing that equation. Our policy engine ensures the AI acts strictly within the newsroom's defined guardrails, autonomously handling the heavy lifting of multi-platform formatting. This liberates journalists to focus on the story, and allows broadcasters to aggressively capture younger digital audiences without inflating their baseline production budgets."
Newspulse is currently in limited availability testing with select newsroom partners, with general availability expected in June 2026.
