MRMC Marks 60 Years of Innovation

Mark Roberts Motion Control is set to showcase its latest advancements in robotic camera technology and motion control at the NAB Show 2026, taking place from April 19–22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Recognised as a leading global event for the broadcast, media and entertainment industries, NAB 2026 will provide the stage for MRMC to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a showcase of innovation spanning six decades.

Exhibiting at booth C5220, the company will present a sports-themed stand concept demonstrating how its engineering heritage continues to influence modern visual storytelling. Through a combination of precision robotics, adaptable hardware and an open, vendor-agnostic ecosystem, MRMC will highlight how creative and technical teams can deliver high-end content across film, broadcast and premium production environments.

Among the key highlights is the latest evolution of the Roaming Pedestal System (RPS) from MRMC Broadcast, which will debut FreeD tracking capabilities, outputting real-time XYZ and pan, tilt, zoom and focus (PTZF) data. The company will also introduce a new product, the Kronos Curved Rail System from Slidekamera by MRMC, alongside the premiere of LiveTrack AI, a computer-vision technology designed to enable robotic systems to maintain autonomous, cinematic framing of moving subjects in real time.

A dedicated sports studio environment will demonstrate how robotic camera systems are reshaping live broadcast workflows. The Full Range of Motion demonstration area will showcase a wide variety of camera angles and perspectives achievable through automated broadcast robotics, offering insight into how modern studios can expand creative possibilities.

MRMC will also present a Virtual Production and Augmented Reality workflow developed in partnership with Disguise, illustrating how robotic precision enhances dynamic camera movement around graphics to improve 'through-the-lens' visuals.

Central to the stand will be the continued development of the Roaming Pedestal System. The award-winning RPS-C2 with lift column, alongside the new RPS-LT robotic arm variant, will debut FreeD tracking capabilities, delivering real-time XYZ and PTZF data. This advancement allows direct integration with third-party graphics engines, removing the need for external tracking systems in virtual production and augmented reality workflows.

The Kronos Curved Rail System will also make its debut, offering a modular solution for permanent installation in demanding broadcast environments. Designed to support both upright and underslung configurations, the system enables custom radius curves and complex bidirectional S curves within a single setup.

LiveTrack AI represents a significant step forward in camera automation, integrating directly into MRMC’s Flair software. The technology enables robotic cameras to maintain cinematic framing of moving subjects during complex multi-axis movements by analysing the primary camera feed in real time. By identifying subjects and continuously adjusting composition, LiveTrack AI ensures accurate tracking without constant manual input.

Unlike conventional auto-tracking systems, LiveTrack AI blends tracking adjustments with pre-programmed camera paths, preserving the intended movement while adapting to natural subject motion. This approach delivers a consistent, professional result while reducing operator workload across applications including live sports, virtual production and high-end cinematography.

The Motion Control area will feature the full Cinebot range, including the Cinebot Max, Cinebot Mini and the newly introduced Cinebot Nano. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the systems first-hand, experiencing the capabilities of motion control and robotic precision in a practical setting.
