Limecraft Introduces Update 2026.2
Limecraft has announced the release of Limecraft 2026.2, the second platform update in its 2026 release cycle, introducing a range of enhancements aimed at streamlining editorial and post-production workflows.
The AI-powered production platform enables content creators to store, manage and share projects from initial rushes through to final masters. Its workspaces can be customised for formats including scripted TV, documentaries and non-scripted entertainment, with AI services embedded at the core.
The 2026.2 update focuses on reducing manual effort while improving automation quality. According to the company, the release centres on simplifying complex technical processes through greater user control and enhancing outputs through more advanced AI tools.
A key feature of the update is a significant overhaul of AAF export functionality, which is now fully template-based. This allows users to define, manage and reuse export configurations without requiring engineering support. Templates can be created at the workspace level and applied during export, helping teams maintain consistent results across projects.
The new system is designed to support high-volume production environments, such as continuing drama and reality programming, where large amounts of material must be processed efficiently. Users can configure clip colours based on metadata, transfer comments and transcripts as native markers into Avid, and structure sequences across multiple timelines.
Alongside workflow improvements, Limecraft 2026.2 introduces updates to automatic speech recognition. New controls include disfluency filtering to remove hesitations and repetitions, as well as enhanced speaker diarisation with adjustable sensitivity for more accurate segmentation in multi-speaker recordings.
These features build on the platform's existing transcription capabilities, which are supported by custom dictionaries optimised for word error rate and usability. The update also adds AI-assisted post-editing tools to help users refine transcripts more efficiently and reduce manual corrections.
Additional enhancements in the release include refinements to delivery workflows, more flexible custom status filters, improved workflow access control, and increased robustness in Limecraft Edge during temporary licensing interruptions.
"Limecraft 2026.2 is about putting more control in the hands of users while reducing the operational burden," said Dieter Van Rijsselbergen, CTO at Limecraft. "By making complex processes like AAF export configurable and repeatable, and by improving the quality of automated transcription, we enable teams to work faster and with greater consistency – especially in high-volume production environments."
