YES Chooses Synamedia Iris
Synamedia has announced that YES, the pay-TV subsidiary of Bezeq, has selected its Iris platform to support advanced advertising capabilities across its television and streaming services.
The deployment will allow YES to introduce addressable advertising as part of a broader strategy to expand monetisation opportunities for its premium content. According to Synamedia, the Iris platform was chosen for its flexibility in supporting new ad-funded business models as the operator looks to diversify revenue streams.
YES joins a growing list of service providers using the platform, including OSN, MTN Group and Astro, which have adopted the technology to enhance advertising strategies and increase the value of their ad inventory.
Synamedia Iris will unify advertising insertion across YES’s television and streaming devices, covering both set-top box platforms and OTT applications on smart TVs. The system uses scalable server-side ad insertion (SSAI) technology to deliver ads seamlessly across multiple viewing environments.
The platform's architecture is designed to integrate with YES’s existing technology partners, helping streamline advertising operations while allowing the operator to scale its ad business more efficiently.
Iris will also integrate with YES's streaming platform technology powered by Synamedia Go Experience Manager. The modular SaaS OTT platform is designed to simplify streaming service management while supporting editorial strategies and personalised viewing experiences. The overall deployment also incorporates other Synamedia technologies including FluidEdge CDN, security services and disaster recovery.
Itzik Elyakim, VP of Engineering at YES, said:: "As we continue to evolve our services to meet changing viewer preferences and market dynamics, advanced advertising capabilities are essential to our strategy. Synamedia Iris provides the technology we need to deliver premium ad experiences that maintain the high quality of experience our subscribers expect."
Guy Southam, Senior Product Director for Synamedia Iris, added: "As consumer habits evolve, ad-supported business models are increasingly important for telco operators like YES. I am pleased to work with YES to provide its customers and advertising partners with unified, personalised, relevant advertising, seamlessly integrated into their existing technology ecosystem."
