Teradek Unveils RF-X Auto Switcher To Safeguard Critical Broadcast Signals

Teradek has introduced RF-X Auto Switcher, an intelligent signal‑management device designed to bolster redundancy and resilience in mission‑critical broadcast and cinematic workflows. Aimed at Technical Directors, ACs, DITs and Video Engineers, RF-X is intended to replace manual failover chains with an automated, low‑power unit that prioritises signal integrity.

RF-X ingests up to six inputs from Teradek Ranger or Bolt receivers and automatically selects the strongest available path for seamless, hit‑less failover. The unit consolidates these sources into a single, clean 12G‑SDI output for direct integration with production switchers or video village, available over BNC or SDI fibre SFP.

By centralising redundancy, Teradek says RF-X can help customers reduce reliance on separate video switchers and associated labour, while maintaining consistent output quality in high‑stakes environments.
