Appear Names Simon Frost As CMO To Drive Global Growth
Appear, a global provider of live production technology, has appointed Simon Frost to the newly created role of Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), marking the next stage of its expansion and customer engagement strategy. The move follows a period of strong financial performance and the company's successful IPO in November 2025.
Frost brings more than 20 years' experience in media technology, with senior roles at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Ericsson and TANDBERG Television. Most recently at AWS, he helped accelerate the uptake of cloud-based media workflows across EMEA, partnering with broadcasters, service providers and industry stakeholders as they trialled and adopted cloud‑first approaches.
The appointment reinforces Appear's continued investment in its leadership team and its ambition to deepen market presence, underpinned by a commitment to customer-led innovation.
"We are delighted to welcome Simon to Appear's executive team," said Thomas Bostrøm Jørgensen, CEO at Appear. "Simon brings an exceptional combination of strategic insight, deep industry expertise and an unwavering focus on customers. His background at AWS and Ericsson will be invaluable as we continue to evolve our portfolio and expand our international footprint, while staying true to the values that have driven Appear's success."
Frost joins at a time of structural change in media and entertainment, as operators balance the reliability of hardware-based workflows with growing adoption of cloud-native and hybrid architectures. At AWS, he supported media organisations through this shift, helping them unlock greater operational agility while preserving the resilience required for live production.
At Appear, Frost will leverage that experience to shape how the company brings its combined hardware and software portfolio to market, enabling customers to accelerate innovation and improve efficiency in live production.
"Appear has earned an outstanding reputation as a trusted partner for the most demanding live production environments," said Simon Frost, CMO at Appear. "The leadership team and Board have a bold vision for Appear's opportunity, with customers at the centre of every decision. The opportunity to join Appear at this pivotal time and leverage my delivery of hyper growth and customer obsession at AWS is an incredible opportunity."
The strategic hire reflects Appear's evolution as a publicly listed company and the strengthening of its leadership structure to support long-term growth. Customer insight, including through initiatives such as its Customer Councils, will continue to inform both its technology roadmap and its go-to-market strategy.
Frost added: "Having worked across multiple industries at AWS, the media and entertainment industry is one of the most collaborative, innovative and experiential, engaging lives at all ages and willing to adopt new technologies to further that engagement. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunity to work with the industry every day and build upon the successes that Appear has driven so far."
