Hitachi Europe Names Michele Fracchiolla President From April 2026
Hitachi Europe Ltd has announced the appointment of Michele Fracchiolla as President of Hitachi Europe, effective 1 April 2026.
He will succeed Andrew Barr, who will step down to take a new role outside Hitachi after a successful period leading the EMEA business.
Andrew Barr has served as President since 2023, during which he advanced Hitachi’s presence and growth across EMEA and supported customers with digital transformation and sustainability initiatives. He departs after a 21-year career with Hitachi, including his previous position as Group CEO of Hitachi Rail.
Fracchiolla currently serves as Vice President and Executive Officer, President & COO of the Strategic Social Innovation Business (SSIB) Business Unit at Hitachi, Ltd. He brings extensive international experience in strategy, operations and business transformation, having held senior roles across multiple geographies and divisions, including Rail. He has played a central role in driving growth and portfolio evolution within Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business, with a strong emphasis on customer value, digital solutions and sustainable growth.
