Sky Sports Returns As Broadcast Partner For Reignwood Icons Of Football 2026

Sky Sports has confirmed it will once again bring the Reignwood Icons of Football to UK audiences, returning as broadcast partner for the 2026 edition of the event.

The tournament will take place at Reignwood Park in Bangkok from 31 January to 1 February 2026.

Following a successful debut in Asia, the Icons Series returns with an expanded production and renewed ambition. The world-first sports and entertainment concept brings together elite athletes from different disciplines, uniting 24 football legends in a competitive matchplay golf format that continues to blur the lines between professional sport and live entertainment.

Sky Sports will provide live coverage across Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports Main Event throughout the weekend, supported by highlights, digital content and additional programming. The 2026 edition will see Team England and Team World renew their rivalry, with an all-star lineup of former footballers trading boots for clubs in one of sport’s most distinctive crossover events.

For 2026, the television production will be delivered in-house by Icons Series, with the broadcast operation strengthened by the addition of senior, award-winning producers. Executive Producers Joe Bass and Tim Lacy join the team, bringing experience from major global productions across entertainment and golf. They are joined by Danny Hackett as Live Director and Andy Quinn as Live Producer, further reinforcing the in-house production as Icons Series looks to elevate its live broadcast and storytelling.

A familiar presenting team will return to Bangkok to lead coverage for Sky Sports and global audiences. The on-site line-up includes Josh Denzel, Nick Dougherty, Robbie Greenfield, Claud Harmon III, Su-Ann Heng, Ria Ince, Ewan Porter and Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley, providing on-the-ground insight, player access and coverage of key moments across the two-day event.

The 2026 tournament will feature a roster of high-profile football icons, including the recently announced Gareth Bale, who joins Team World in one of the biggest signings in Icons Series history. The teams will be captained by Danny Willett for Team England and Ernie Els for Team World.

Team England's current lineup includes Jimmy Bullard, Andy Cole, Robbie Fowler, Joe Hart, Paul Ince, Phil Jagielka, Jermain Jenas, Phil Jones, Teddy Sheringham, Lee Sharpe, John Terry and Theo Walcott. Team World’s lineup features Gareth Bale, Gabriel Batistuta, Nigel de Jong, Luís Figo, Ryan Giggs, David Ginola, Ruud Gullit, Aaron Ramsey, Andriy Shevchenko, Nemanja Vidić, Dwight Yorke and Gianfranco Zola.

The 2026 broadcast will introduce several format innovations designed to increase drama and viewer engagement. These include 'Call the Captain', allowing players to invite their captain to take a shot, a viewer-voted ‘Shot of the Session’ bonus points feature, and ‘Home’ holes, where an away win earns double points.

UK viewers will be able to watch Reignwood Icons of Football 2026 live on Sky Sports Golf and Sky Sports Main Event across 31 January and 1 February 2026, with highlights and additional content available across Sky Sports platforms.
