Atomos Releases Firmware Update

Atomos has announced the immediate availability of firmware version 12.2.1 for its Ninja TX GO and Ninja TX monitor-recorders, enabling ProRes RAW recording from the Canon EOS R6 Mark III hybrid mirrorless camera.

The update allows filmmakers to capture high-resolution ProRes RAW footage, with Ninja TX supporting a maximum video resolution of 6960 x 3672 up to 30P, and 4320 x 2278 up to 60P. Ninja TX GO supports up to 4320 x 2278 at 60P. Both devices also now offer camera control of the EOS R6 Mark III over USB-C.

Ninja TX GO and Ninja TX are Atomos' next-generation on-camera monitor-recorders, combining a bright, high-resolution 5-inch HDR touchscreen display with advanced recording options including Apple ProRes RAW, ProRes RAW HQ, ProRes LT, 422, 422 HQ and Avid DNx formats.

Both models feature real-time monitoring tools such as EL Zone, waveform, focus peaking and LUT support, as well as camera control and touch focus on supported cameras. Recording is made directly to CFexpress cards over HDMI with Ninja TX GO, or via SDI and HDMI with Ninja TX, enabling extended record times and fast post-production workflows.

The Canon EOS R6 Mark III is a hybrid mirrorless camera equipped with a 32.5MP full-frame CMOS sensor, DIGIC X processor and Dual Pixel CMOS AF II. It supports continuous shooting up to 40 fps, up to 8.5 stops of in-body image stabilisation, and advanced video features including 7K 60p RAW and oversampled 4K up to 60p. The camera includes one CFexpress Type B slot and one SD UHS-II slot.

Firmware version 12.2.1 is available now as a free over-the-air update for Ninja TX and Ninja TX GO monitor-recorders.
