BBC Sport Extends UEFA Champions League Highlights Deal

BBC Sport will continue to bring audiences comprehensive coverage of the UEFA Champions League, having secured the rights to highlights and clips for all matches until the end of the 2030/31 season.

The extension adds four additional seasons (2027/28 to 2030/31) to the broadcaster’s existing agreement, ensuring that every goal from every match will continue to be showcased across BBC platforms.

Under the renewed deal:
• Digital clips from all matches each week (Tuesday and Wednesday) will be available across BBC platforms—including the website, app, iPlayer, and social media—from 10pm on Wednesday.
• Highlights and clips will remain a central feature of BBC Sport's wider Champions League coverage, alongside audio commentary, live text updates, stories, and reports.
• A dedicated Match of the Day programme will air on BBC One after the late evening news on Wednesday of each matchweek and will also be available on BBC iPlayer.

The agreement complements BBC Sport's existing domestic football rights, which include Premier League highlights and live FA Cup coverage, and strengthens the broadcaster’s extensive football portfolio, featuring men’s and women's FIFA World Cups, UEFA EUROs, the Women’s Super League, and the Women's Champions League.

The deal ensures Champions League action remains accessible to free-to-air audiences across the UK.
