Nippon TV And CJ ENM Announce First-Ever Co-Production

Nippon TV has announced its first-ever partnership with Korea's CJ ENM for the co-production of a new cross-cultural romantic comedy drama series titled Merry Berry Love (working title).

The series tells the story of an unlucky spatial designer and a strawberry farmer who find love on a remote Japanese island, and features top stars from both Japan and Korea.

Set to premiere on Nippon TV in 2026, Merry Berry Love will also stream globally on Disney+, as part of the ongoing strategic collaboration between Nippon Television Holdings, Inc. and The Walt Disney Company (Japan) Ltd.

Korean actor Ji Chang Wook (The Manipulated, The Worst of Evil) will play spatial designer Lee Yubin, opposite Japanese actress Mio Imada (Tokyo Revengers) as strawberry farmer Karin Shirahama. The series is directed by Kim Soojung (Semantic Error) and written by Lee Jaeyoon (Divorce Insurance).

Merry Berry Love is being developed and produced by CJ ENM—the company behind Parasite and Queen of Tears—and co-produced by Nippon TV, known for acclaimed dramas such as Mother and Woman.
