New Audio Comedy-Drama Brings P.G. Wodehouse's Wartime Internment To Life
AUK Studios has unveiled a brand-new original audio comedy-drama, The Code of the Wodehouses, which explores the period British author and humorist P.G. Wodehouse spent in German internment camps during the Second World War.
At the time, Wodehouse was living in occupied France.
Described as a witty work of imagined fiction, the series is inspired by extensive research into Wodehouse's experiences as a prisoner of war. The drama stars Robert Daws (known for Poldark, Jeeves & Wooster, and The Royal) as Wodehouse himself—affectionately nicknamed ‘Plum’. The script is written by award-winning writer Kenton Hall, based on a premise developed by producer and director Barnaby Eaton-Jones.
The Code of the Wodehouses will be released exclusively on HEARD PLUS, a new audio streaming platform, this December, marking the 50th anniversary of Wodehouse’s death in 1975.
