THE MILL UPGRADE NETWORK SERVICE TO 100 MEGABIT

THE MILL, one of the leading UK post production groups, and WAM!NET, providers of global information technology and digital media solutions, have announced that The Mill have upgraded their WAM!NET Direct! network service to 100 Megabit.
The installation, which is one of the first of its kind in the UK and Europe, will be used across all Mill departments including Mill Film, emill and the recently launched beam.tv.
The upgrade is twenty-five times larger than the Mill's original WAM!NET connection, enabling much faster delivery of casting tapes, cut approvals and commercials in broadcast quality.
Andy Barmer, Director of New Media at The Mill, said: “With the exceedingly busy emill department and the launch of beam.tv, a global network of post production facilities, we needed to improve the speed of our digital transfers. As current WAM!NET customers, it made perfect sense to go to them for the new upgraded connection as we know it will be reliable and easy to implement.” (CD)
