The Mill goes on tour

The Mill and Mill Film have been invited to present their work at a number of international industry events over the coming months.
Orbital DVD 'The Altogether' will be screened at London's onedotzero festival, which is taking place at the ICA from May17-26. The DVD's menus were designed and directed by The Mill's Phil Crowe and Mill Lab¹s James Stone. The navigation is based around an obsessed fans room. Paul Donnellon at Mill Lab created the promo for 'Oi!' in Flash, and Phil designed and directed the promo for 'Doctor?'.
Head of Mill TV, Dave Throssell will also visit at the Production Show, which runs between May 21 – 23 at the Olympia in London.. He will talk about the recently launched television division and the BBC series 'Rockface' on May 21.
On June 6, Mill Film's Gabriel White is set to speak at 'Digital Behaviour', the European forum for digital content creation in Cologne. Gabriel will be discussing Mill Film¹s work on Ridley Scott's Oscar-nominated film, 'Black Hawk Down'. Mill animator Hitesh Patel will also be speaking at Digital Behaviour. He will present a reel of Mill work followed by a Q&A session on June 9.
Meanwhile on June 6, Mill Lab director Paul Donnellon will be attending The International Animation Festival, Annecy. He has been invited to showcase Mill Lab's recent work within the Economy and Strategy of Flash Production and Distribution conference.
Mill Film's visual effects supervisor, Tim Burke will be presenting the amazing helicopter crash scenes from 'Black Hawk Down' at the fourth Visual Effects Society festival,'VES 2002: A Festival of Visual Effects' in San Rafael, Northern California, on June 15th. The crashes were built up using models, 3D and real helicopters. Laurent Hugueniot and Olcun Tan will join Tim to explain in detail the making of the complex sequences.
Gabriel White and Dave Throssell will also be attending CGI 2002 at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford, which runs from July 1 to July 5. Gabriel will again be covering Mill Film's exceptional visual effects work on 'Black Hawk Down' as well as other recent projects such as Lara Croft's Tomb Raider. Dave will concentrate on Mill TV and Rockface. Both talks take place on July 4
