VeePod Reimagines The Future Of Video Podcasting

News Image
VeePod has launched to transform any suitable space into an immersive, flexible production environment.

Designed for creators who want to deliver cinematic-quality content without the complexity and cost of premium studio setups, VeePod blends real-time production technology with smart automation tools, whilst preserving the authentic, unscripted feel that audiences love.

VeePod is the brainchild of Rob Chandler, who transitioned from a 20-year career in big-tech marketing into mastering virtual production, a technique originally developed for TV and cinema combining real-time computer graphics with live-action filming. He founded Starting Pixel, a global community of more than 1200 creators at the forefront of storytelling and emerging tech, and hosts the weekly Starting Pixel podcast, interviewing filmmakers, VFX artists, and producers about the future of content creation. Through these ventures, Rob identified a growing need to reimagine video podcast production and developed the VeePod proposition.

"The way we engage with podcasts is evolving rapidly, and creators face mounting challenges, from costly studio builds, static visual formats, and clunky workflows that don’t scale or attract sponsorship," explained Rob Chandler, founder of VeePod. "VeePod addresses these in a simple, intuitive format, so creators can concentrate on compelling content and conversations."

At the core of VeePod is a powerful suite of creative and technical capabilities designed to remove these barriers. Its immersive video set reduces the cost of a premium studio build, and can be customised across unlimited environments, whether faithful replicas of existing studios or imagined real-world or fantasy locations. CGI technology can align the set with a podcast’s personality, tailor to a sponsor’s brand colours, or add narrative impact with changing daylight or weather conditions.

As many podcasts welcome remote guests who join by videocall, production quality can be impacted, reducing the perceived quality of the show. VeePod enables identical immersive studio setups to be deployed in separate physical locations. Using real-time 'beaming-in' technology, the studios are seamlessly merged, resulting in cohesive and professional visuals.

The system has been designed to be operated by podcast technicians as part of their existing operations and can be installed in one day in an appropriate production space. Training is provided across VeePod’s automation tools, including lighting synchronisation, matching the virtual and physical worlds and AI-driven camera cutting, massively reducing editing time.
