Custom Consoles desks chosen for BBC White City
Custom Consoles has supplied bespoke studio furniture for the Central Communications Area at BBC Television Centre, White City.
The order was for two curved control desks, 8m and 12m wide respectively, on a 30m radius. These will house equipment used to supervise and switch incoming video, audio and data feeds.
Both are constructed of 19mm MDF with oak finish, hard-wearing blue marmoleum work-surfaces and silver-finished metal legs.
Custom Consoles Sales Manager Gary Fuller said: "Custom Consoles was chosen on the basis of high build quality and good ergonomic design. A 2m wide pre-production sample was delivered for ergonomic evaluation prior to the actual installation, proving the design's structural stability and the equipment layout."
