GM Editing announce premises move

GM Editing, the West London Avid House is relocating to the Production Centre in Askew Road W12, home to its parent company, Input Video Group.
GM will offer many new benefits to clients including the company’s first Avid DS Nitris HD suite. Other advantages facilitated by the move include the availability of digital linear suites and Facility Lines to the BT Tower for incoming and outgoing live feeds. GM will also benefit from an increased number of staff editors and technical support.
The move completes Input’s two-year expansion programme that has seen a doubling in the size of its Production Centre and the acquisition of GM Editing. Gareth Maynard, GM’s founder, will continue his relationship with the company as a consultant and Facility Manager Linda O’Donoghue steps up to oversee the day to day running of the GM operation.
“Linda has an excellent relationship with our clients and she will ensure that all of their requirements are catered for in the new location,” said David Wood, Group Managing Director. “We have been planning this move since we took over our new building and this summer has brought the first window in our workload that will give us time to complete the relocation”.
GM Editing will occupy the second floor of the Production Centre offering Unity storage, six online Avid suites including one HD and three Symphony, as well as high spec Digital Linear suites. GM will have access to Input’s experienced graphic design team who gain the advantage of a Smoke suite. A dedicated Avid Xpress station can be used to ingest into Unity Mediashare enabling clients to continue with their edit and access material once digitised by an edit assistant. Sion Tammes will continue as GM’s Head of Sound operating the Pro Tools sound dubbing theatre.
“We are seeing more and more demand from clients to work at online resolution throughout their project as well as event based programming that requires a fast turn-around in a non-linear environment,” commented Mike Norris, Input Group’s Head of Post Production. “Our new installation at the Production Centre will address all of those issues by offering a “one-stop” solution as well as being able to offer a cost effective suite for the growing HD market.”
