Leader announces LT448 multi-format pattern generator

Leader's new LT448 intelligent multi-format generator carries all the right patterns, formats and outputs needed in the development, routine service and detailed repair of CRT monitors, LCDs, plasma panels and projectors.
It supports all PC resolutions as well as TV formats including HD. Outputs include composite, component and Y/C analogue, DVI, RGB and audio.
The LT448 delivers component and composite signals in 17 standards embracing DVB, ATSC and ISDB, progressive and interlaced, at 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720, 720 x 480 or 720 x 576 display resolution. PAL/SECAM/NTSC outputs are also provided, as well as computer monitor feeds delivering 640 x 480 (VGA), 800 x 600 (SGVA), 1024 x 768 (XGA) and 1280 x 1024 (SXGA). Additional video outputs include tri-level and binary sync and Y/C.
Front panel pushbuttons, provide rapid access to the generator's wide range of facilities, including single-push selection of colour bar, raster, ramp, step, convergence, crosshatch, multiburst, character, window and monoscope patterns. A natural still picture pattern is optionally available. Aspect ratio is switchable between 4:3, squeeze and letterbox modes.
Combinations are automatically matched to the user-selected format, output or mode, with lights indicating the appropriate option buttons.
Other dedicated controls include auto/manual pattern change, saturation, R/G/B channel selection, pattern inversion, switchable RGB and Y/Pr/Pb modes, aspect ratio selection and audio tone generation (400 Hz, 1 kHz). Up to 100 presets controlling format and pattern can be stored and recalled, supported by a rotary control data wheel and backlit LCD data display or remotely from a PC.
All output and input connections are at the rear of the generator's 2U case. These include stereo audio out (RCA), composite out (BNC and RCA), component, sync output, hoizontal and vertical output pairs (BNC), JAITA CP-4120 D5 (D connector) and (DVI-D, plus RS-232 and RS-232C remote control interfaces.
elQuip Managing Director Paul Vos commented: "The LT448 is ideal both for standard and high definition equipment development and alignment. It builds on our experience with the LT447, combining high video signal stability with exceptional operational flexibility and compactness. Its format independence will be particularly appreciated now that the television industry is moving forward from 625 and 525 line image delivery to significantly higher resolution."
