Festival Market to be held at Hull International Short Film Festival

Organisers of Hull International Short Film Festival, have announced details of the event's Festival Market.
Market coordinator Richard Bartlett said: "The importance of this event cannot be underestimated. The market will provide a unique opportunity for businesses in the film, arts and media sector to come together and discuss new initiatives in the industry.
"Delegates will also be able to promote their own developments and ideas at the market exhibition."
The market, which will attract dozens of film and media delegates to the region, will be held at Ferens Art Gallery on October 16 and 17 and will include keynote speakers, seminars and discussion panels. The gallery will also play host to the festival's literature exchange and exhibition.
Topics for discussion during the seminars will include, 'Think Different, Think DVD' and 'The Role of Short Film in a Sustainable UK Film Industry', as well as other pertinent issues affecting the industry.
The market's discussion panels, coming under the title 'Cutting up the Calling Card', aim to examine industry approaches to short film and how this affects training, production and distribution. Speakers include representatives from the BBC, British Council, Screen Yorkshire, East Midlands Media Initiative, Short Circuit, Britshorts, UK Film Council and Skillset.
