KAON And Partners Deliver World-class TV Services

KAON (IBC2022 stand 1.B51), 3 Screen Solutions – 3SS (IBC2022 stand 5.A83), and Green Streams (IBC2022 stand 5.B37) together announce the launch of their new joint IPTV / OTT service platform product.

This launch-ready market offering is based on their pre-integrated end-to-end technology platform enabling Tier 2 and medium-sized providers to rapidly and economically deliver super-aggregated video services based on Android TV, Google's increasingly popular Operating System, as well as all relevant Multiscreen platforms.

The new turnkey platform comprises Green Streams' TVaaS backend platform, powerful yet competitively priced KAON Netflix Certified STB (set-top box) and 3SS' award winning front and UI/UX platform, based on the 3Ready Product Framework. Other "Best-In-Breed" vendors are as well pre-integrated, e.g. for personal recommendations or advanced QoS & QoE analytics.

Green Streams GmbH was co-founded in 2021 by industry veteran Gernot Jaeger to deliver a flexible IPTV & OTT backend platform that integrates deeply and smoothly with 'Best-In-Breed' partners for key components such as frontend applications, metadata, recommendation or QoS/QoE analytics. With this approach, advanced IPTV / OTT products can be launched quickly and efficiently while achieving the highest of quality standards.

The 3Ready Custom Launcher – driving next-gen Android TV Operator Tier experiences for more than 15 major service providers on STB, Dongles, Smart Speakers and TVs with over 35 million homes worldwide reach – enables an advanced user experience for the joint service platform.

"We are delighted and proud to collaborate with 3SS and KAON for this game changing platform and product," said Gernot Jaeger, Green Streams Co-Founder & CEO. "3Ready's ability to provide users with an intuitive and engaging entertainment experience is widely acknowledged, and KAON's economical STB is perfect to deliver advanced Android TV services with leading edge UX," he added. "We're thus providing the market with a solution that has true ‘Best-in-Breed' components and creating a world class IPTV & OTT service platform for operators."

KAON's capable and competitively priced Netflix Certified STB delivers Android TV Operator Tier services with a high degree of user experience quality, stability and reliability.

The 3Ready-powered UI/UX comes with a wide range of key functions (live TV, replay, timeshift, catch-up, etc.) and an attractive design out of the box, ready to deploy. At any time, the operator can choose to implement additional levels of customization according to budget.

The result of this collaboration is an affordable and flexible end-to-end service platform that accelerates time-to-market. So operators can begin to attract subscribers for their new Android TV services, and generate revenues, earlier.

Pre-integration means that service providers can avoid costly and time consuming systems integration projects. As a result, they get easier, faster implementation, with total confidence of seamless interoperation of the complementary technologies. Meanwhile, CAPEX as well as OPEX costs are lower and time-to-market for new products and features is fast-tracked.

"We are really excited to partner with Green Streams and 3SS to provide Tier 2 and medium-sized operators the opportunity to differentiate from competitors by building their new Android TV services on our high quality yet economical end-to-end platform as the foundation," commented Thomas Staneker, Senior Vice President Business Development and Sustainability, at KAON.

"There is a very clear market need for a turnkey solution that enables ambitious medium sized service providers to launch great Android TV based services for their customers," said Pierre Donath, 3SS CPO & CMO. "Thanks to the partnership between Green Streams, KAON and 3SS, that requirement is being fulfilled with a powerful solution built on advanced and proven pre-integrated technologies."
