‘London Voodoo’ to premiere at Commonwealth Film Festival

The independent British psychological horror film - 'London Voodoo' – is to have its UK & European premiere in Manchester as part of the Commonwealth Film Festival.
The film will be shown on Thursday 6th May at AMC Great Northern Cinemas, Deansgate, near G-MEX, Manchester City Centre at 8:45pm.
The film's award-winning writer/director is Robert Pratten and the film's Executive Producer is Helen Pratten - who was born and brought up in Manchester. The two met when they were both studying at Salford
University.
Financed and produced entirely through private equity, ‘London Voodoo’ is about an ambitious New York analyst Lincoln Mathers(Doug Cockle, ‘Spy Game’, ‘Tailor Of Panama’, ‘Band Of Brothers’) who relocates his family to England. His wife Sarah (Sara Stewart, ‘Batman Begins’, ‘Mrs Brown’, ‘Auf Wiedersehen Pet’) unearths London's disturbing past and quickly becomes hostage to an ancient spirit. When Mathers realises that his wife is not who she was, he is forced to accept that his family's salvation lies in a leap of faith.
The film features an awesome original soundtrack by Steven Severin of
Siouxsie & The Banshees and also award-winning Swedish actors Sven-Bertil-Taube and Michael Nyqvist.
The husband-and-wife team of Robert and Helen Pratten are pleased that the film has been specially selected to be a major feature film at this year's Commonwealth Film Festival in Manchester.
In the USA, the film has already achieved critical acclaim and rave reviews for reviving the "classic" horror film that relies more on suspense & story telling than gore and special effects. Robert was also named "Best Director" at the Fearless Tales Film Festival in San Francisco and the film was elected "Best Horror Film" at the New York Indie Film Festival.
The film will be on theatrical release in the USA starting in July/August this year.
