The Last Samurai premieres in DTS
Tom Cruise's historical Japanese warrior epic ‘The Last Samurai’ was recently premiered in Spain in DTS Digital Sound in the Palacio de la Música cinema, Madrid.
The film was presented in DTS by Warner Sogefilms, working in co-operation with Warner Bros Europe and DTS' Spanish consultant, Manuel Cora.
Commenting on the superb sound quality achieved for the premiere, Cora said: “The premiere gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the dynamic range of DTS Digital Sound, especially with the sequence of gun shots in the palace and at the final battle.”
The industry’s response, including Jesus Dastis, Technical Manager from Warner Sogefilms, and David Pereira, Technical Director of Cinematografia Pereira, was that DTS delivers a more dynamic sound and that the sound quality was perfect.
