TroubleShooter Mini from Digital Forecast can be best described as an affordable toolbox or "Swiss Army Knife" for the Broadcast and AV events engineer.

At just £699.00 it offers wealth features normally only found on high end test equipment. These include multiformat picture monitor, waveform monitor and vector display, video test pattern generator, up, down and cross converter plus video analyser and audio level monitor. Inputs and Outputs are SDI (up to 1080 60p), HDMI and Analogue Audio. Any video signal input appears simultaneously to both output formats.

Additionally aspect ratio can be switched 16:9 and 4:3. Up and down conversion is included, for example a 3G signal can be down converted to HD-SDI or an SD-SDI signal can be up converted to HD-SDI. Test signals include SMPTE Colour Bars, Pathological Pattern, Grey and Black, a moving box can be added to any pattern. Signal generator and analyser operate independently so a signal generated by the TS Mini can be simultaneously be analysed. Audio tone is present in the test signal in the first 4 groups of the embedded audio. Input analogue audio can be embedded within the outgoing SDI video. CRC errors of the SDI input are monitored over time whilst signal jitter is displayed together with eye pattern. Cable length is displayed via a bar display of good, norm and bad cable condition. The levels of first 8 channels of embedded audio are shown on a bargraph display.
