Uncle stays legal with Eyeheight

Uncle, the major new facility recently opened by The Farm Group, has taken delivery of five Eyeheight legalEyes video legalisers.
Located in Network House, White City, adjacent to BBC Television Centre, Uncle offers a broad range of postproduction services including online and offline editing, colour grading and sound dubbing.
Chris Williams, chief engineer of The Farm, commented: "legalEyes enables our creative staff to ensure their video signals conform to safe standard levels for broadcast transmission. It is reliable, easy to use and has the further advantage of eight predefined settings which can be stored for fast recall."
legalEyes meets EBU specification R103-2000 covering RGB colour space and luminance levels. Clipping and soft-clip level, luma and chroma gain and black level are adjustable from the front panel. A one-touch R103-2000 setting optimises the gamut specifically to the EBU recommendation. Two independent SDI outputs are provided with the standard model. An input loop output additional to the 'legalise' outputs can optionally be configured as a third (legal) output. EDH signal re-insertion is provided, a feature of major importance in transmission applications.
Occupying a half-rack-width 1U-high Eyeheight Mini-Box, legalEyes employs full 10 bit signal processing of the 270 megabit/s SDI input signal. legalEyes is fully compatible with Eyeheight's range of digital infrastructure equipment for broadcast and postproduction applications.
In addition to Uncle, The Farm Group comprises four Soho-based facilities: The Farm, The Shed, Home and Squash. Their services include high definition post-production for feature films and television, digital post-production for television, commercials and music promos, and DVD encoding.
