Pro-Bel appoint McGowan as Non-Executive Chairman

Pro-Bel has confirmed the appointment of John McGowan as Non-Executive Chairman of the company.
McGowan was involved in the company's acquisition by its UK management team in November last year from its parent company Chyron and has invested in Pro-Bel.
He was jointly appointed by LDC, the venture capitalists that supported the deal, and Pro-Bel. McGowan's role entails running the board of the company and taking a long-term strategic overview. He is also the key liaison between external investors and the company's experienced management team.
"Pro-Bel is developing very well. It is in excellent shape and is in a very strong position going forward," explains McGowan. He continued: "It benefits from the clear abilities of its management team as well as their sheer enthusiasm for the tasks at hand. As a business develops the circumstances in which it operates naturally change and in my role I am working alongside the management team to ensure that Pro-Bel continues on its current successful path."
McGowan was selected for the role on the basis of his considerable business experience. Educated in business and economics, he first stepped into the role of Managing Director at the age of 36. Six years later he was appointed as Group Chief Executive for the first time. Since then he has held a variety of Chairman and Chief Executive roles and has divided his time between the US and UK. He is currently also chairman of Icon Polymer Group.
