Broadcast Solutions chooses DK-Audio’s PTV range

Systems integrator Broadcast Solutions has installed a range of DK-Audio equipment into two of the most sophisticated Outside Broadcast vehicles currently in operation in Russia.
Russian broadcaster Unitel commissioned the 8-Camera OB vehicles and is using them to transmit sports events such as football, athletics and ice hockey. These productions are mainly destined for Russian pay-TV broadcast station NTV+, which has its own satellite for transmitting content to its subscribers.
At present, the two vehicles are equipped with six and four cameras respectively. However Broadcast Solutions has designed a coupling infrastructure that allows the vehicles to be used in tandem to provide 16-camera operation. Both vans are 10.8 meters long, 2.5 meters wide (3.55 meters when extended) and 3.82 meters high. Each has room for 12 crew members and both are similarly equipped with Ikegami cameras; Snell & Wilcox video switchers; 64x64 SDI, 16x2 SDI and 16x16 composite Network routers; Sony, JVC and Tamuz monitors; Soundcraft MH 4 audio mixers, Lynx converters and distributors and Broadcast Solutions’ proprietary Virtual Studio Manager control systems.
The equipment supplied by DK-Audio included four PT5210 and two PT5211 sync generators and two each of DK-Audio’s PT5664 and PT5661 waveform monitors.
Broadcast Solutions’ project manager, Wladislaw Grabowski, said: “We chose DK Audio because we had had good experiences with these products on other projects. Our clients wanted well built, reliably devices that were also cost effective. We believe DK-Audio products offer very good cost versus performance ratios.”
Broadcast Solutions, headed by Stefan Breder, is a systems integrator and sales and service partner for broadcast technology, with the emphasis on satellite communications and mobile and stationary studio solutions. Its core business is the implementation of turnkey projects, particularly OB vans and SNGs.
