NEW WIDE-ANGLE CONVERTERS FROM OPTEX

OPTEX, the London-based broadcast equipment distributor, have introduced a new Pro-grade 0.65x Wide-Angle Converter suitable for use on Sony VX-2000, PD-150 and DSR-250 camcorders, giving the user a 35 per cent wider view while maintaining image quality.
The converter locks onto the camcorder via a bayonet mount, avoiding the common problem of stripping the filter thread, and enabling quick and easy mounting. In addition standard 82mm filters can be used without any vignetting. The converter will have an RRP of £200.00 + VAT. A 58mm screw thread version is also be available for other camcorders.
At the same time OpTex have announced a reduction in the list price of their Wide-Angle Adapter Optics for ENG and Canon XL-1 Lenses. These Optics are suitable for the Canon 16x and 3x lenses as well as OpTex’s own XLPRO 14x lens and a wide range of ENG lenses. They offer 0.7x and 0.5x magnification factors. The 0.7x will now have an RRP of £260.00+VAT and the 0.5x set will be £550.00. Adapter rings are available separately.
