CVP Unveils Camera Comparison Tool

CVP has developed an online tool that offers a visual representation of coverage of lenses when paired with various sensor formats, and different cameras using the same lens.

This useful tool, which can be seen in the CVP Creative Experience at BSC Expo 2019, gives filmmakers a first indication of the camera equipment that may – or may not - suit their project.

Jon Fry, Sales Director, CVP, said: "Every day customers ask us a variation on the question, "Will this lens work with that sensor?" We thought it would be useful to create a kind of visual database as an initial guide to show how a particular lens will work with a particular camera – or to compare coverage of different cameras using the same lens. Of course, we will always recommend shooting proper tests to look at the full range of camera and lens characteristics, but this online tool offers a very useful and simple starting point."

The Lens Coverage and Camera Comparison Tool offers the following practical information in a visual format:
• Checking whether a lens covers a sensor format
• Comparing field of view for a lens on a given sensor format
• Comparing sensor data
• Accessing lens data
• Seeing how to match a B camera to an A camera

The Lens Coverage and Camera Comparison Tool will be available for demonstration at BSC Expo, together with a wide range of production equipment, including some UK exclusives to CVP such as RED cameras and Angenieux lenses, as well as the Sony Venice and ARRI Signature lenses for large format, Canon, Blackmagic, Vocas, Zacuto, Smallrig, DJI, and more.
