Shooting Starts On Film4's David Copperfield Adaptation

Shooting is underway on Film4's 'The Personal History of David Copperfield', an adaptation of Charles Dickens classic novel.

The film will be directed by Armando Iannucci ('The Death of Stalin') and star Dev Patel ('Lion', 'Slumdog Millionaire') in the titular role.

Supporting cast members include Academy Award winner Tilda Swinton, Hugh Laurie, Peter Capaldi, Ben Whishaw, Paul Whitehouse, Aneurin Barnard ('Dunkirk'), Daisy May Cooper ('This Country'), Morfydd Clark ('The Falling'), Benedict Wong ('Avengers: Infinity War'), Gwendoline Christie ('Game of Thrones') Anthony Welsh ('Fleabag') and Rosalind Eleazar ('Howards End').

The Personal History of David Copperfield follows the life of the title character in the 1840s as he navigates a chaotic world in an attempt to find his place.

The feature was developed with FilmNation Entertainment and is co-financed by FilmNation Entertainment and Film4. It was written by Mr Iannucci and fellow Academy Award nominee Simon Blackwell (In The Loop). Lionsgate have the UK rights to the film.

It is being produced by Kevin Loader (The Death of Stalin) and Armando Iannucci.
