Nucoda's Film Master used on 'Johnson Family Vacation' trailer

LA-based post-production company Karma Bank have started using nucoda’s Film Master film finishing solution to colour, grade and conform the trailer for the new Christopher Erskin movie 'Johnson Family Vacation' for Fox Searchlight.
Karma Bank recently installed nucoda Film Master v1.4 in their finishing suite where it is being using extensively to finish movie trailers.
Karma Bank are able to embed sequential timecode into full resolution 10 bit Cineon log files which are then converted to DPX files. These files are auto conformed using a 24 fps EDL. Using Film Master, Karma Bank are able to conform the entire trailer in about six seconds, releasing time for creative colour correction, effects and title adjustments.
Karma Bank have their Film Master configured via the nucoda Colour Management API to the Truelight colour management system. This enables Karma Bank to access the Truelight colour cube from within the real-time viewing pipeline. Karma Bank artists know that the colours they see on their workstations will accurately match those on the final projected film. All colour grading and defects removal on the Johnson Family Vacation trailer will also be carried out in Film Master.
Karma Bank have recently used Film Master on Paramount Classics’ new trailer for the Robert Downey Jnr movie, 'The Singing Detective'.
Launched at SIGGRAPH 2003, nucoda film master is the world’s first complete resolution-independent film finishing solution, and the second in a series of products based on nucoda’s ‘Postcode’ technology.

Scheduled for a US release on April 9 2004, Johnson Family Vacation stars Cedric the Entertainer - who is also producing the movie - Steve Harvey and Vanessa Williams.
