Discreet announce significant 3ds max take-up

Discreet have significantly increased their share in the 3D animation tools market this year, with expansion in both core and emerging markets.
Having exceeded 200,000 license sales of its 3ds max software, Discreet have lunged ahead of the competition with 3ds max 6, the most recent release of their acclaimed 3D modelling, animation and rendering software.
Entertainment and design firms have moved to or expanded their use of 3ds max as a central 3D application for video and console game development, Hollywood film blockbusters and captivating design-visualisation projects. Discreet 3ds max software has also made aggressive strides in advanced simulation/design visualisation and the emerging mobile games market.
In 2003, 3ds max 6 continued major expansion in the game development market. Already used as a primary 3D application for 80 percent of the top-selling game titles, 3ds max software was a core 3D application used by 2003's top 10.
3ds max software purchases also grew in the motion picture and broadcast visual effects market, as major studio and animation houses discovered and utilised the strong new features in 3ds max 6, including Particle Flow and improved complementary workflow with other 3D applications such as Kaydara, Maya and Softimage XSI.
