GLIDECAM COMES TO THE MIDLANDS
LONG established crewing company, Magpie Films have recently added to their to their already comprehensive list of crewing facilities the ‘Glidecam’ system.
This enables the cameraman to accomplish those long walking and developing shots that directors love to dream up.
This system of maintaining a ultra steady shot while walking, running, going up stairs, and is a must for those ‘active programs’.
Sporting events is another area in which Glidecam excels, whether in the fast moving world of the pit lane in motor racing or the more energetic ‘UK Strongest Man’ events, Glidecam is there.
The system was provided by CKE Distribution of Shipley, West Yorkshire, and the training program was provided by Tom Paterson of Forager Films, who himself uses ‘Glidecam’ extensively on the program ‘Ground Force’ and many others. (CD)
