IDT Unveils The Compact O-10

News Image
IDT are about to rock the world of slow motion.

Slow motion action replays have always been a challenge for high speed cameras, due to the download and processing required before the footage is ready for broadcast. That is set to change with a new fibre based system from IDT. The very compact camera heads can stream imagery back to a recorder, where the images; clean enough to be broadcast straight from the camera; can be accessed and broadcast while the recording is still being made.

More information will be released shortly.

For a more independent and self-contained camera, IDT's ultra compact O-10 captures over 1000 stunning UHD images per second, and includes many features designed to speed up workflow. HD-SDI, removable SSD memory, battery power, multiple interfaces.

What sets this apart from other ultra-slomo cameras? Well, firstly the size but it doesn't end there. Normally, a global shutter would mean reduced image quality, but IDT's expertise with very low noise global shutter sensors ensures an accurate recording of even the fastest movements with the highest of image quality. The O-10 has a sensitivity of 2000 ISO, and a 12-stop latitude.

For subjects that require a faster frame rate, all the above advantages are also available on the O-9 camera, which has a 2560x1440 sensor, and frames at an impressive 3000fps at full resolution.

Control for both cameras is from Windows or MAC based software. There are many automation features to keep the operation simple. The full featured software also runs on iOS, so operation from iPad (with the WiFi adapter) makes for a very portable system.
