Aaton Digital's Wins NewBay's Best of Show Award
Aaton Digital's CantarMini 16 track sound mixer-recorder has been awarded the NewBay's Best of Show Award, presented at the 2017 NAB Show by Pro Sound News.
NewBay's Best of Show Awards are evaluated by a panel of industry experts and are selected based on innovation, feature set, cost efficiency and performance in serving the industry.
NewBay Broadcast & Video Group Vice President & Group Publisher Eric Trabb, said: "The products nominated for the Best of Show program, now in its fourth year, provide an outstanding overview of new technology on the show floor and shine a spotlight on the very best."
Aaton Digital's CEO Jacques Delacoux added: "We are very proud to have received this Best of Show Award presented by Pro Sound News during NAB 2017 for our CantarMini. It is an amazing welcome to the US market for our latest recorder-mixer. Our family of Cantar sound recorders is growing fast and is acclaimed worldwide."
The CantarMini is based on the renowned CantarX3, winner of many awards and now widely recognised by the sound community as the ultimate digital 24 track location sound recorder, with many delivered and in daily use worldwide.
The CantarMini is in no way a reduced performance or reduced quality product but retains the full sound quality, uses the same preamps and components and manufacturing quality, and the same design quality as the CantarX3 but with 16 tracks instead of 24, a reduced number of inputs and outputs, resulting in a considerably smaller size and a more lightweight unit - just 2.8Kg with 2 batteries on board - almost half the weight of the X3. Of course, most of the software comes across also from the well developed CantarX3 software.
Like the X3, the Mini also has the indispensable tilting display, it uses the same batteries, and is compatible with the add-on mixer panel Cantarem2.
Winners of the Best of Show receive an award for display and will be featured in Pro Sound News, dedicated to the business of the professional audio industry.
All nominated products are featured in the special Best of Show Awards Program Guide, to be distributed in digital edition form to more than 100,000 readers of Pro Sound News, Radio World, TV Technology, Digital Video, Video Edge, Government Video, Radio magazine and Sound & Video Contractor after the convention.
