Lego Builders To Battle It Out On Channel 4

Channel 4 has announced details of a new show, Masters of Lego (w/t), which will see fans compete against each other in a bid to discover who is the UK's most talented Lego builder.

The 4x60' competition format series will see six pairs of amateur fans go up against each other to build ambitious creations with the famous bricks. Contestants will put their design, originality and construction skills to the test, whether it is creating landmarks in miniature scale, to full-sized working vehicles. Each of their creations will be judged by experts from the toy-maker.

The teams will comprise of pairs of all ages and in each programme, the teams who impress the judges most will progress to the next round until the finale, where one pair will be crowned the winners.

The series will be made by Tuesday's Child East and has been commissioned for Channel 4 by Dom Bird, Head of Formats and Jilly Pearce, Formats Commissioning Editor.

Dom Bird, Head of Formats, said: "There a very few of us who haven't engaged with Lego bricks at some point in our lives, be it the youngest of children or the space scientists at NASA. This contest is the first of its kind on UK television and will recognise some of Britain's best and brightest amateur Lego builders, both young and old. We're excited to bring the most colourful competition on TV to a family audience."
