Skillset to give runners a headstart

FOLLOWING on from the success of the first Skillset Runners Event last year, which provided free careers information and advice for runners, this year’s event has been extended to two days and includes more workshops covering different areas of the industry.
Dinah Caine, Chief Executive of Skillset, said: “The success of the first Runners Event together with funding from the London Development Agency has enabled Skillset to run this two day event. This year’s workshop will provide an excellent opportunity for runners to get a headstart in the industry.”
The event is for London - based runners and will take place on Monday March 11 and Tuesday March 12 2002 at the Business Design Centre in Islington, between 2.00pm-8.00pm. The Runners Event is funded by the London Development Agency and organised by Skillset. It is supported by BBC, BECTU, Channel 4, Channel 5, LWT, PACT, the Production Guild and skillsformedia.
There will be 400 free places available (200 each day) and runners will have the chance to attend three one-hour workshops in their chosen areas. The workshops will be hosted by leading industry figures from television, film, radio and interactive media some who themselves began their professional careers as runners. On both days there will be a one-hour networking session from 7.00-8.00pm.
