Upgraded driver for BB5/ XB3 range released

PMC have announced an upgrade for their flagship BB5 series monitor series and XB3 sub with the introduction of a new version of their 15 inch radial driver.
Rear venting of the magnet now complements the cooling effects of the distinctive radial fins, while power compression effects are further ameliorated by the circulation of air throughout the core via apertures at the rear of the magnet assembly. Improved venting provides for reductions in overall distortion and greater linearity.
The massive construction of the driver has been improved with a new innovative alloy casting. This features further sculpting of the intricate spoke assembly to enable longer cone excursions, providing further improved impulse response and higher SPL handling.
The new driver has brought discernible improvements in the performance of the complete BB5 range of monitors and the XB3 sub, including the BB5-XDB-A.
Leading BB5 and BB5-XDB equipped facilities include Metropolis Mastering, The Sanctuary Townhouse, 360 Mastering, The Soundmasters International, BBC Maida Vale studios and the BBC Hippodrome Theatre in London.
