'Amazingly Quick' TV Eye Demo At IBC

"Impressive" and "amazingly quick" were typical IBC visitors' comments when they saw the compact hand held A+V TV Eye unit put through its paces on the Murraypro stand.

TV Eye powered incredibly quickly and was fully operational in under a second! Like big brother Test Chest, this unit locks immediately to all SDI sources whether SD, HD or 3G; and in fact during the IBC demonstrations it proved impossible to defeat the standard-detection logic when quickly cross-patching between different sources!

TV Eye's 'Jewel in the Crown' is the integral Eye display, an unheard of luxury on budget kit, with automatic measurements performed on the 'Raw' signal. An ever-vigilant alarm is illuminated should source-jitter exceed the specified SMPTE tolerance.

TV Eye also offers high quality traditional CRT-like WFM, Vector and 16 Ch audio displays in addition to the TV picture mode, upon the latter simultaneous Jitter or Stereo histograms may be superimposed.
Stereo speakers and a separate headphone OP are provided too.

Current drain is highest in Eye mode where the TV Eye battery returns around 1 hour endurance; but when used in the more frugal WFM or picture monitor modes, this endurance will be considerably extended.

Weighing in at around 700Gm, TV Eye is supplied with an external PSU which also doubles as the battery charger, and its own customised carrying case.
