Dubai TV selects Chyron Pro-Bel for transition to digital

Reading-based company Chyron have been contracted to supply Dubai TV with the Pro-Bel equipment necessary to provide the broadcaster with full digital capabilities for up to four main channels and four 'opt-out' services.
Chyron, a television graphics and distribution systems developer, will deliver four TX series master control switchers, Eclipse and Freeway routers, and an Aurora control system with numerous control panels to upgrade from analogue transmissions. The new system allows four primary networks to be managed from one control room, and from two control positions.
The Chyron Corporation installation is intended to incorporate cross-points in existing equipment through tie lines managed via the Aurora control system and has been designed to easily incorporate full Pro-Bel automation.
"Our relationship with Pro-Bel has been established over many years" explained Abdul Rahman Al Ali, director of engineering at Dubai TV. "We appreciate the flexibility they offer, as well as the support for investments we have made in existing equipment. This system has been designed with expansion in mind and we hope to be working with Pro-Bel again in the future."
