The Voice UK Live Finals Return To Elstree

BBC Studios and Post Production (BBC S&PP) has confirmed it will provide full production gallery facilities for the Live Finals of The Voice UK at Elstree Studios, for the third consecutive year.

The production will premiere the use of a recent technology investment in the gallery's comms infrastructure which enables the production's multiple sub teams to connect quickly and effectively.

Beginning on Saturday 26 March and culminating in the Live Final on Saturday 9 April, George Lucas Stage 1 at Elstree will be host to the talent show. The production will utilise BBC S&PP's purpose-built Sound, Lighting and Production George Lucas galleries.

To meet the intricate communications requirements of The Voice UK, as well as the other George Lucas Stage production residents, BBC S&PP upgraded its studio comms system to a Riedel Artist 128.

Andy Tapley, sound supervisor at BBC S&PP, said: "In terms of technical infrastructure, a comms system is the absolute backbone of success for any studio. Modern productions need an easy and open comms structure, so it was vital we invested in one that would allow us to quickly and efficiently connect the multiple sub-teams on this production."

Produced for the BBC by Wall to Wall and Talpa Media, Series 5 of The Voice UK sees Black Eyed Peas member and innovator, will.i.am, and Brit Award winner Ricky Wilson return to the show. They have been joined for 2016 by Paloma Faith and Boy George.
